Abstract

In a survey of 293 accidents involving moped riders and motorcyclist who sustained head impacts, the types of struck objects and the head (or helmet) impact areas were classified in decreasing order for frequency and severity of head injuries. The results show that objects of ''plane'' and ''corner'' types are the most representative of two-wheelers head impacts in road accidents.
