Abstract

The influence of truck size (or weight) on occupant injury severity in one and two vehicle fatal crashes was the subject of this exploratory investigation. The analyses were based on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Fatal Accident File (FAF) for the January 1973 - June 1974 period. Exposure and environmental parameters - as well as impact types - were compared for different sizes of truck.
