Abstract

In this paper resuscitators are described and tested as to their maximum tidal-and volume efficiency, the maximum inspiratory pressure achieved in connection to a watermanometer and in connection to a model lung of a compliance of 0.045/cm H20, the possibility to add oxygen and the possibility to resuscitate somebody in a poisoned atmosphere. The types of breathing valves are described and the question of rebreathing of expired air is discussed.
