Abstract

There is a need for increasing the protection of children in passenger vehicles. Efforts to gain child restrains laws have, with one exception, been unsuccessful. Recent surveys have indicated that a vast majority (±39 %) children less than 10 years of age travel without any restraint at all. there is not a model law addressing child restrains. Examples of such legislation developed in Washington and Tennessee are added.
