Child restraints- availability and use.

Abstract

The availability and use of restraining devices for young vehicle occupants- who are not directly affected by legislation requiring the wearing of seat belts were measured in Australia. Only one in for children had available a "child restraint", but the wearing rate amongst these children was extremely high. Of the "child restraints" observed approximately quarter were "unapproved" devices.
