Abstract

From hospital files data were selected of all children aged 0-14 years, who as pedestrian or bicyclist suffered a collision with a motor vehicle in 1974. The 124 cases consist of 82 boys and 42 girls, 65 bicyclists are heavily represented in the highest severity group; that the bicyclists on average were 10.1 years old as against the average age of the pedestrians of 6.7 years, and that the 9-11 years olds have the greatest frequency of injury.
