Abstract

To change and improve traffic environments- and thereby reduce risks in traffic- a number of coordinated measures are necessary. Increase awareness of the problem realted to the present automobile traffic situation. This applies not only to administrators and policy amkers, but also to professional organizations and the general public. Give alternatives to traditional automobile usage. Automobile usage can be reduced only when feasible alternatives are offered (in additon to carpooling). New, unconventional solutions must be developed and programs for a gradual change-over must be elaborated.
