Abstract

Five to ten years school children were filmed for several days when crossing the road after leaving school. Most of these children then completed a personality questionnaire in school, and half of then were also given a interview about road safety. The observed behaviour was found to vary with age and sex, and the knowledge of road safety was found to bear little relation to the observed road behaviour.
