Children's views on road safety and on adults' driving.

Abstract

A survey was carried out in which children aged 9- 16 were asked for their views on road safety and on their parents' driving. When asked about dangers which threatened children on their age, 23% spontaneously mentioned road accidents, 3% had been hurt in a road accident while crossing the road last year and 22% has experienced a near miss. 44% preferred their fathers driving out of those who had two parents who could drive.
