Abstract

The use of chipseals in New Zealand is discussed and typical performance outlined. The various materials used and the types of chipseal used are described in some detail. Typical contractual arrangements, warranty periods and the industry safety and training are covered and the current practices and equipment used for chipsealing highways and roads in New Zealand are described, and explained.
