Abstract

The issues affecting the development of suitable guidelines for intersection control choice are outlined.It is shown that there is no uniformity in current practice and that there is a demand for consistent guidelines by practising traffic engineers. The question of the role of such guidelines is addressed. The principal factors affecting the choice of intersection control are outlined.
