Abstract

The basic purpose of the present study was to examine choice of route in relation to the Karlsruhe assignment algorithm and to calibrate this assignment method for the chosen study area. More specifically, the objectives of the study were: (1) collect data on choice of routes by car drivers; (2) analyse these data, with reference to journey time, distance and cost; (3) determine which of the three parameters- time, distance or cost- has the biggest influence on choice of route.
