Abstract

Intelligent Transportation (Transport) Systems (TSM) brings to the transportation professionals a new range of tools in managing their transportation systems. Generally the benefits of a good system are invisible to the public until the systems fail. However, even more invisible are the methods or processes required to develop ITS systems and implement them. The multi-disciplinary characteristics and their integration challenge anyone's technical abilities. It is anticipated that sharing some of our experiences as a City agency will benefit others who dare to explore the benefits of ITS. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.
