Abstract

Many municipalities have implemented traffic control systems (TCS) in an effort to more efficiently monitor traffic conditions, manage incidents, and provide the optimum degree of congestion-reducing parameters associated with system technology. In this 2nd feature article on the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the authors provide an overview of the City's new TCS, and share lessons learned during the analysis period and through the construction and implementation of that technology.
