A class of structural models for trip distribution.

Abstract

A trip distribution model of Loubal and Potts is shown to be a member of a larger class of so-called structural models. Such models are shown to be best applicable in situations where a forecast of an origin-destination matrix is needed, but where the available transportation facilities change little in the forecast period.
