Abstract

This volume is the fourth and final volume produced as part of a final report on a project concerned with developing procedures and materials for a system of classified licensing. It contains a report on the extent and distribution of functional illiteracy among driver license applicants in North Carolina. It would be important to determine the extent to which illiteracy is associated with driving performance before any literacy requirement could be given serious consideration.
