Abstract
The purpose of this study was to bring together and focus upon a common theme the skills pf experimental psychologists in perception, psychophysics, memory, attention and human performance. The common theme was the way humans represent or code information in order to accomplish a variety of tasks. In addition to many findings, the project resulted in the development and perfection of number of methodological tools for studying coding systems.
