Abstract

In recent years the use of interactive computer graphics (ICG) in structural engineering has increased dramatically, and it seems that it can be adapted successfully in performing collapse analysis of structures, and evaluating the structural integrity of bus body structures in accident situations. With ICG the geometrical description or modification of a vehicle structure (preprocessing) for analysis (processing) can be expedited and accomplished with fewer errors and less time, and one can display the results of the analysis (postprocessing) and interpret them visually in an easy manner.
