Collision deformation classification for trucks.

The Truck Deformation Classification -SAE J1301- is a research tool used to describe collision contact damage sustained by large truck units. Damage patterns are described in an abbreviated seven digit coded format. This paper describes the development phases leading to publication of SAE J1301, the coding logic associated with the latter document, and the results of initial field application efforts.
