Abstract

The use of Delta V as a measure of collision has become more common in recent years. This paper reviews the fundamentals involved in defining this measure and illustrates some applications to typical collision circumstances- particularly car-to-car collisions. The relationship to vehicle damage measurements is discussed. Possible misapplications in certain circumstances are pointed out.
