Abstract

In order to meet sustainable development objectives, ensure a better use of the existing infrastructure and improve the environmental performance of the whole transport system, requires the development of combined transport modes for goods. Based on case studies and for situations related to road transport, this session will examine the conditions required to ensure the success of combined transport modes and the role of the authorities topromote this approach. During this session, examples of good practice forlogistics in urban areas will also be presented. For the covering abstract see ITRD E139491.
