Abstract

Projects concerned with computerized technology in road vehicles (private cars, notably in the case of the PROMETHEUS project) gamble on the support of future users for the products they propose. However, short of imposing vehicle equipment by law, successful distribution of these devices depends largely upon their capacity to adapt in a practical way to the needs of the driver in the year 2000.
