Abstract

It is shown that many commercial vehicles operate in an unsafe condition on the highways, creating a safety hazard to the general driving population and to the driver of the vehicle itself. The principal reason is the actual or perceived low level of enforcement of commercial vehicle safety regulations by the Federal State Officials of the U.S.A. Several findings and recommendations are described.
