Abstract

ETSC fully supports Mrs. Jensen MEP’s Report and the adopted amendments from the Plenary of the 23rd of April specifically: Amendments 10, 11,50, 59 (Vulnerable Road Users), 17, 22, 38, 43, 49 (strengthen the Directive’s implementation), 39, 45, 46, 47 (ITS Advisory Group), 55, 56 (strengthen safety elements of Annex II of Directive), 20 (eCall). These will strengthen the ITS package’s safety potential. ETSC’s Comments on the Council Conclusions of 30 March 2009: ETSC supports in the preamble under the overall aims for ITS to: • Make continuous efforts to the enhancement of road safety; • contribute to the development of efficient, safe and environmentally friendly transport services.
