Abstract

For efficient deployment of ITS as an integrated system, it is necessary to exchange and use information among regions, road management entities and different systems. In Japan, modern communications technologies are used for the ongoing development of many of the advanced road management communication systems. However, in order to establish systems efficiently and conduct information exchange and utilization among systems in accordance with ITS deployment, interface standardization should be promoted with a view to upgraded interconnectivity and interoperability. This paper reports on a study of standardization of communication protocols for the purpose of further interconnectivity, interoperability and more efficient designing. (A*)
