Abstract

Millimetric frequencies for road transport applications will assume an increasingly important role over the next few years. The CEC DRIVE 2 project COMIS has produced a design for a communication system operating in the band 63-64 GHz for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-roadside applications. This paper summarises the key features of the system and places it in the wider context of the evolution of road transport telematics and associated standards. (A)
