Abstract

This paper deals with the problems of Community Severance and pedestrian movement in two sections. The first deals with severance where this is caused by a major new barrier inserted into the urban fabric- such as a new motorway; the second deals with severance caused by traffic in shopping streets, and reports the findings of the survey on pedestrian activity in Coventry.
