Abstract

The difficulty is discussed of using value systems for obtain quantitative information on values a transportation planner must have. Social indicators an discusser to determine how much is of value. At the life of the city or community, the lack of social indicators is a problem. If these were available, better judgments about community values would be available also. Aggregate indexes used in national income statistics are discussed.
