One of the first activities in the field of Mobility Management by the Netherlands Ministry of Transport was developing "commuter plan the Maas". The plan was set up to overcome the negative consequences on mobility due to the relocation of two branches of the Ministry of Transport. They were centralised and located on one site in Rotterdam instead of five different ones in the province. A few years later a new "commuter plan the Maas" was introduced. It is ten years ago that these first steps were taken, time to evaluate the plans. In this paper the different aspects of the plan are considered: the actual contents of both plans, the results in reduction in car kilometers or SOV's, the tools that were used, the reactions of new employees, parking policy and the role of management. It is interesting to see how within a period of five years the environment of a commuterplan can evolve dramatically, what forces the commuterplan to be adjusted, and lose one of its `showpieces'.
