Abstract
The performance of caterpillar vibratory rollers CB224B and CB534 weighing 2.4 and 9.8 tonnes was compared with that of a 9 tonne deadweight tandem roller. After 6 and 12 passes both vibratory rollers gave greater compaction than the deadweight to a 130mm layer of dense roadbase macadam rolled at temperatures in the range 90° to 120° C. (A)
