Abstract

Observations of winter road conditions typical of urban areas indicate that during light snowfall or after plowing deep snow, chemicals should be applied or pavements should be treated at such a rate that at least 30 per cent of the snow is melted. Traffic will move the resulting wet snow to the side of the road.
