Abstract

This short note briefly discusses the New Town movement in Sweden and it makes a comparative analysis of the pedestrian systems of two Swedish communities or "new towns" outside of Stockholm (Kista and Sharpnäck). The two communities are both seen as succesful developments, and are both sought-after residential areas. The two communities were chosen because of their different approaches to pedestrian design.
