Abstract

Longitudinal evenness is of great importance as an indicator of road condition, both in terms of road pavement performance, and as a major determinant of road user costs. The Danish Road Institute has for many years measured the longitudinal evenness with the Bump Integrator developed by TRRL, Great Britain. As preparatory work for purchasing new equipment The Danish Road Institute made a comparative test with four different equipments: JULY, DK-profilometer, Laser RST, Bump Integrator. The evenness indexes from the four types of equipment have been examined by linear regression analysis. The results are available as figures and diagrams for each sub-section, for sections with asphalt concrete, for cement concrete, and for the total number of sections as a whole.
