Abstract

This paper focuses on the performance of various types of guardrails, median barriers, and end treatments, and the comparision of risk to the driver when striking a barrier length of need versus an end section. This question has been of interest for roadway/roadside design engineers and others interested in the performance of hardware. Some of the findings are provocative and in need of further clinical exploration. (A)
