Abstract

In this paper, the authors investigate the suitability of equipment used for detecting bicycles. The investigation is based on experiences gained through a function test of several types of detection equipment in the cityof Trondheim. The main goal of the function test was to measure the accuracy and general performance of the detection equipment. The authors foundthat the accuracy varied greatly with factors such as manufacturer, physical properties of the detection site and traffic characteristics.
