Abstract

Driver and pedestrian injury and fatality rates by vehicle type on French rural highways in 1969 indicated that the cars most vulnerable in vehicle collisions are the least vulnerable in vehicle fixed object collisions occurring on rural roads, and vice versa. The greatest number of casualties occurred in accidents involving light, front engine, and low speed vehicles.
