Abstract

A comparison of the approach to DWI problems in the USSR and USA is made. A common impression that regardless of differences in the ideologies, the citizens of both countries still present a double standard. It is okay to drink and drive as long as a traffic accident does not occur. Sooner or later both countries must realise that alcohol related losses are much greater than profits.
