Abstract

This report informs about the traffic information techniques which might be used to divert drivers around congested parts of the highway system. It was determined that: 1) visual techniques were preferred to vocal techniques 2) the difference in response level between the various techniques was small, indicating that perhaps any one of them, except the symbolic map, would produce the same results.
