Abstract

The purpose of the study was to compare sedative effects of ritanserin 5 mg b.i.d. with those of lorazepam 1.5 mg b.i.d. Driving tests were performed in the evening at 19.00 hours and 20.00 hours. The test consisted of operating an instrumented automobile over a 100 km highway circuit while attempting to maintain a constant speed (90 km /hr) and constant steady lateral position between right lane boundaries.
