Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to compare any injury responses and kinematics for the EuroSID-2 and SID-II in side impact crash tests. Four side impact crashes were conducted with an IIHS barrier on 1998 Honda Accords and two on 2001 Volkswagen Jettas, in these tests the driver dummies were alternated. The findings suggest that SID-IIs will be more effective in driving relevant improvements such as side impact crash protection.
