Abstract

Experimental car-pedestrian collisions were carried out with dummies of various types and with human subjects, with the car striking the pedestrian laterally at speed of 40km/h. The aim was to compare the responses of these dummies, some of which are designed for lateral impact, with those of the cadavers under identical impact conditions.
