Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to outline the testing of two different models of crash test dummies to discover which provides the most realistic response of the human body to frontal car collisions. Results showed that the Thor-Alpha's responses were more similar to the PMHS that the Hybrid III. There still remains several body parts that need to be adjusted so that the dummy reacts more humanlike in frontal crash testing.
