A comparison of psychological and pharmacological treatment in smoking cessation.

Abstract

A double-blind trial of a smoking withdrawal chewing gum containing 2 mg nicotine was conducted with 100 consecutive patients in a smoking cessation clinic. The results clearly indicate that the combined psychological pharmacological treatment was more successful than the psychological placebo treatment.
