Abstract

On two-lane two way roads overtaking opportunities are often limited by traffic and highway factors so that vehicles may be forced to queue behind slower vehicles before overtaking can take place. To explain this clustering or bunching of traffic several bunching models have been proposed, examined, compared and discussed.
