Comparisons of concept in automobile occupant restraint protection.

Abstract

This article compares various concepts in occupant restraint systems including safety belt and air bags. The source of information is a large body of impact sled test data which has been gathered at the Highway Safety Research Institute within the past year. Index of protection or injury criterion will discussed and compared with other developments in the area of human tolerance.
