Compensation of defects in high risk road users.

Abstract

This paper describes some examples that appear to be relevant for the policy with regard to high-risk groups of road users. recommendations are made to initiate a program to: (1) Determine which conditions may be compensated, either with or without aids; (2) Specify the degree of compensation necessary to establish average risk driving performance; (3) Specify standard procedures for testing the degree of actual compensation in individuals; and (4) Work out further recommendations to governments regarding their responsibility for training of road users.
