Abstract

Experiments investigated the effects of alcohol on functions of the intact brain by direct recordings or by psychophysical measurements of sensory perception. These experiments generally were designed to test alcohol effects on performance capability. Alcohol has various effects on types of behaviour spontaneous motor activity is generally decreased but in same tests the ataxia and disinhibitory effects of alcohol caused an increase, especially soon after administration.
