Abstract

Previous proposed car-following models are given and compared with empirically collected data obtained through aerial photogrammetric techniques and the possibility of using "composite" models to describe the real world situations is considered. Four models are revisited, and composite models were developed representing both congested and non congested states. These results were more significant in data fitting and merit further consideration for use descriptive flow-density models.
