Abstract

Car drivers on motorways may occasionally be unable to see a roadside traffic sign because their line of sight is obstructed by a large vehicle, travelling more slowly than the car, in a traffic lane on the left of the car. A simplified geometric model has been developed and applied to traffic data gathered on the M25.
