Abstract

An investigation of the delays incurred by the traffic passing between junctions with different cycle times, is described. A range of traffic and road conditions is considered by means of simulation and for each of these conditions the cycle time of the downstream junction is varied between approximately 0.2 and 3.0 times of each of the upstream cycle tested.
